Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.
Several individuals were hurt while local people in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.
Simultaneously, a young boy was lost their life in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, based on information from area administrators.
Moscow has escalated strikes on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "real steps" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.
"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the US, Europe and the Group of Seven - in supplying protection systems and implementing penalties," mentioned in a social media post.
Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 projectiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.
The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to fix the damage.
A series of attacks damaged energy infrastructure and residential structures in Kyiv.
Five out of the nine people hurt in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, according to city authorities.
Area administrators said the urban area endured heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.
The strikes come after nights of aerial attacks in the territory, sections of which are occupied by Russian forces.
The entire country is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to detect.
National leaders told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already disrupting fuel infrastructure.
Officials stated technical personnel and government agencies were anticipating further attacks.
